Role Overview:

The Founding Engineer will take full ownership of the technical foundation—across smart contracts, backend, frontend, and infrastructure. This role is highly cross-functional, strategic, and deeply hands-on. You will architect chain-agnostic systems, write secure smart contracts, design robust infrastructure, and grow a high-performance engineering team. You’ll work closely with the founder, with autonomy to shape architecture, culture, and velocity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and scale technical infrastructure across EVM, SVM, and more

• Write production-grade smart contracts (Solidity, Rust), backend systems, and user-facing apps

• Own DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, security infrastructure, multisig ops, observability, and RPC failover

• Make critical decisions around technical tradeoffs and long-term architecture

• Hire and lead top-tier engineers

• Drive a culture of speed, security, and high performance

• Collaborate directly with the founder—challenge and be challenged

• Ship fast, iterate faster

Technical Requirements

• Deep experience building DeFi or TradFi systems (vaults, AMMs, lending, etc.)

• Expert-level smart contract development (Solidity/Rust)

• Proven infrastructure architecture across smart contracts, backend, and DevOps

• Strong grasp of security best practices: multisigs, key management, monitoring, incident response

• Familiar with patterns like MEV resistance, upgradeability, oracles, bonding curves

Bonus Points For:

• Prior experience as a founder or early engineer

• Background in quant, mathematics, or high-frequency trading

• Strong technical network and recruiting capabilities

• Contributor to open-source DeFi protocols or tooling

• Understanding of AMMs, order books, market structure

• Proficiency with Rust, Solidity, Go, Python, TypeScript

• Experience with tooling: Foundry, Hardhat, Kubernetes, Grafana, Tenderly, Safe, Snapshot
