Client Overview:

Our client is a renowned venture builder with over a decade of experience in creating innovative startups that rapidly gain customers and investors. Specializing in cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, big data, and fintech, they have established a strong market presence. This remote-first company allows for global work flexibility, with office options available in Poland (Cracow) and Estonia (Tallinn). They offer semi-flexible working hours, requiring availability between 11 am and 3 pm CET, allowing employees to set the rest of their schedule.

Project Description 

The client is building an innovative neobank at the forefront of revolutionizing personal and corporate finance. The neobank seamlessly integrates traditional banking services with cutting-edge financial solutions, bridging the gap between conventional and modern finance. the platform offers a comprehensive suite of core banking features, including multi-currency IBAN accounts, currency exchange, international payments, debit card issuance, and account analytics. With a strong emphasis on crypto-friendliness, it is set to redefine the banking experience for the digital age.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with the company's vision and long-term goals.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to optimize resources and drive growth.
• Implement robust controls and metrics to monitor performance and streamline financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS-9 and other standards, generating accurate financial data and managing accounting functions.
• Engage with auditors, manage tax documentation and compliance, and coordinate regulatory reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA).
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and financial operators, manage contracts, and optimize operations through partner cooperation.
• Oversee treasury functions, liquidity management, debt capital market funding, and payment flow optimization.
• Define and develop neobank product and technology specifications, collaborating with teams to align with business goals and drive innovation.

What we expect from you:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

• Proven track record of success in senior financial leadership roles, preferably within the banking, fintech, or related industries.
• Deep understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with hands-on experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, with a passion for innovation and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and the broader fintech ecosystem is essential.
• Experience in regulatory affairs and relationship management with regulators, particularly the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) would be an advantage.
