Senior Cloud Virtualization Expert - Kubernetes
Competitive
Our Client
Today a handful of corporations control 90% of the world's data and IT infrastructure and we are expected to trust them. This is not just bad for business; it's bad for everyone. Information asymmetry has led to social inequality, scandals, polarization, and corruption. Sometimes, it has even led to war. Centralized data control acts as a potential chokepoint for innovation, raises privacy concerns, and creates a bottleneck for the free flow of data.
Our client is building a cutting-edge new open-source cloud infrastructure and a global open data network aimed at storing important global data without a middleman. It is the largest open web3 data lake, covering approximately 80% of the entire crypto and web3 ecosystem today. In 2024, they aim to expand data coverage to include public health and scientific research data.
The Role
As a Senior Cloud Virtualization Expert, you will play a crucial role in designing and building the cloud virtualization infrastructure for company's core product. Leveraging your expertise in Kubernetes and cloud technologies, you will lead the development of a decentralized microservices architecture, ensuring elastic scalability and efficient resource utilization.
Your main scope of work will building a large scale decentralized, distributed cloud (data, storage and compute) network immutable by design. The core APIs grants universal access to anyone, anywhere, anytime, without the need for registration, licensing, or payments and prevents interferences.
Your Impact:
● Design and build the cloud virtualization infrastructure, ensuring multi-deployment options across various platforms, including bare metal, public cloud, and local computing systems.
● Implement a decentralized microservices architecture, where each node contributes to the network by offering computational power, storage, and participating in essential processes like data verification and consensus maintenance.
● Drive elastic scalability by leveraging the flexibility of Units, allowing dynamic scaling based on demand, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
● Leverage Kubernetes for elastic scalability, allowing dynamic scaling based on demand, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
● Develop a resource aggregation layer utilizing technologies like Kubernetes and container orchestration systems to efficiently manage and allocate resources across nodes.
● Ensure optimal performance and reliability of cloud infrastructure, supporting the growth and expansion of decentralized applications through Kubernetes.
● Play a key role in developing high-performance cloud networks, ensuring optimal connectivity, data flow, and participating in the consensus mechanism and data verification processes.
● Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud virtualization solutions seamlessly with company's core products.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field.
● 8 years of hands-on experience in designing and building cloud virtualization infrastructure.
