An innovative blockchain protocol project is seeking a VP of Engineering to join its founding team.

Their platform makes it easy to launch custom blockchains with a built-in system for smooth operation. It removes the need to manage complex infrastructure, letting developers focus on creating and improving their chains.

Responsibilities:

As Vice President of Engineering, you will:

• Set Technical Direction: Define and lead the technical vision and engineering strategy in collaboration with the leadership team.

• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing, distributed engineering team. Create a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.

• Product Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end development of blockchain solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.

• Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on technical leadership in Rust programming and blockchain development. Ensure the integrity of technical architecture and systems through rigorous code reviews and best practices.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, business, and marketing, to align technical initiatives with business goals.

• Innovation: Stay ahead of blockchain industry trends, ensuring the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will have:

• Leadership Experience:

• 8+ years in engineering roles, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership position.

• Proven ability to lead and scale distributed technical teams in high-growth environments.

• Blockchain Expertise:

• Experience working with notable Layer 1 or Layer 2 protocols.

• Deep knowledge of blockchain architecture, cryptography, and consensus mechanisms.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Rust programming with contributions to production-level applications.

• Familiarity with designing secure, scalable decentralized systems.

• Strategic Vision:

• A strong track record of translating complex technical requirements into actionable roadmaps.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions in fast-paced environments.

• Communication:

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of other programming languages like Go or Solidity.

• Familiarity with rollups (zk-rollups, optimistic rollups) and other scaling solutions.

• Contributions to blockchain-related open-source projects.
