General Counsel

Our client is leading the way in the burgeoning crypto industry. It's a blockchain platform/marketplace for NFTs. To help during this phase of rapid growth, they are looking for a commercially minded General Counsel to manage and take ownership of our legal and compliance operations. With a disruptive industry comes exciting problems to solve and the opportunity to make an outsized impact, particularly within a General Counsel role.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Establish legal, risk and compliance functions
• Structure, draft, negotiate and review a variety of legal documents including affiliate agreements, general terms and conditions, commercial partnership agreements and data protection agreements
• Manage corporate governance and legal requirements
• Advise the executive team on legal issues Interface, instruct and manage external legal engagements in Australia and overseas
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in local and global regulation of blockchain, video gaming and financial services industries
• Review and assess the impact of existing and potential regulatory changes in Australia and overseas
• Be the designated point of contact with any regulatory bodies, and manage any inquiries and audits
• Represent the company in court

We would love you to have:

• Deep expertise in financial services law (securities/AML/KYC/remittance)
• 10+ years of professional legal experience
• A Degree in Law
• Previous experience as an in-house counsel

• Passion for and knowledge of crypto
