Senior P2P Network Architect

What we're looking for

You will be designing and building the highway on which messages from users and nodes within the network travel. The network is one of the core pieces of any blockchain protocol, and the ability to spread messages from node to node in an efficient manner is extremely important. You must have a deep knowledge on gossip protocols, socket programming in Rust, and have built peer to peer networks before.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing the peer to peer network that allows users and nodes in the VRRB network to communicate with one another
• Ensuring that the network is designed for the high throughput that the VM & Chain are designed to handle
• Ensuring that message and packet structures are efficient and minimizing time complexity when it comes to packetization and reassembly of messages
• Ensuring that messages are routed to the proper nodes (LLMQ Validation layer for Tx and Block messages for example)
• Designing and implementing the peer discovery and bootstrapping protocol for new nodes joining the network.
• Designing and implementing RPC protocol for VM interactions
• Working with Distributed System Engineers to design and build the eBPF VM.
• Answering directly to the Founder/CEO

Qualifications

• 5+ years network programming experience
• 3+ years socket programming in Rust
• Has built gossip protocol network before
• Creative problem solving
• Self-starter
• Highly motivated
• Willingness to work long hours if needed
• Passion for peer to peer communication and decentralized systems
• Willingness to speak your mind and present ideas on how to improve upon existing frameworks
